SampleTank Input Setting

Postby Xylemfl0 » Wed Dec 25, 2024 3:49 pm

Greetings, after upgrading to Sampletank 4 Max, both the standalone and the plugin version will not accept input from any of my midi controllers unless they are set to midi channel 1. The virtual keyboard works fine. It is properly selected in preferences, and the controllers works for all other apps and software. They even work for other IK apps like Modo Bass ! Is there a master setting somewhere for this in SampleTank?

MacOS Sonoma, Sampletank 4.2.3

In Sampletank 4, each part is set to respond to a specific MIDI channel. This is a “per part” setting. There is no “master setting” for MIDI channels in Sampletank 4.

If your MIDI controller is transmitting on MIDI channel 1, then any part, in Sampletank 4, you wish to play using your MIDI controller also needs to be set to MIDI channel 1.

Of course, you do not have to use MIDI channel 1 - as long as the MIDI channel of the part you wish to play matches the MIDI channel that your MIDI controller is transmitting on.
